TxDOT is looking for an experienced Construction Recordkeeper I or II in the Paris Area Office. We are looking for a detailed-oriented individual to support our construction team by maintaining accurate records and documentation for ongoing projects. In this role, you'll assist with tracking materials, verifying work reports, and ensuring compliance with project specifications. You'll work closely with supervisors and field crews to keep everything organized and running smoothly. This job opening is for one Construction Recordkeeper I or II depending on business need and applicant's qualifications and experience. Qualification and experience will determine the applicant's position and pay. The Texas Department of Transportation reserves the sole right in determining the level of position based on the applicant's work experience, education, skill level and all other appropriate factors, and based on business needs.
Construction Recordkeeper I - A16 | $44,400 - $61,130 yearly
Construction Recordkeeper II - A18 | $45,521 - $71,055 yearly

Position Description Job Description for Construction Recordkeeper I and II
Construction Recordkeeper I or II Maintains construction project records and processes related paperwork; reviews and modifies contract documents to reflect changes to original agreement; monitors records to verify compliance with state and federal laws and determines payments due contractor for work completed. Work requires contact with contractors. Employees at this level perform assignments following specific instructions and are subject to frequent review by the immediate supervisor.
Construction Recordkeeper II Maintains construction project records and processes related paperwork; reviews and modifies contract documents to reflect changes to original agreement; monitors records to verify compliance with state and federal laws and determines payments due contractor for work completed. Work requires contact with contractors. Employees at this level perform work independently on assignments; however, all unusual issues are referred to the supervisor
Essential Duties for Construction Recordkeeper I or II :- Coordinates with construction inspectors and contractor's staff to ensure project records accurately reflect changes and agreements.
- May attend pre-construction meetings to instruct contractor's bookkeeper on record-keeping procedures
- Monitors contractors' compliance with federal requirements related to Equal Employment Opportunity and wages.
- Monitors on-the-job training program and Disadvantaged Business Enterprise and Small Business Enterprise programs; submits required monthly reports.
- Prepares and submits monthly and final estimates; checks calculations against work log and estimate form to verify work is completed before payment is made.
- Composes, reviews, and maintains correspondence, reports, supporting documents and files.
- Processes change orders, supplemental agreements, and extra work orders.
- Maintains filing structure for each construction project within assigned area.
- Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:Education: High School Grad or Equivalent in general education.
Experience: Construction Recordkeeper I: No experience is required
Construction Recordkeeper II: 1 year of Record-keeping, bookkeeping or other related experience.
(Experience can be satisfied by full time or prorated part time equivalent). Related college education or relevant technical training may be substituted for experience on a year per year basis . Substitutions for Minimum Qualifications
Preferred Qualification : Construction record keeping, accounting experience.
Licenses and Certifications: Valid driver's license. This position requires driving a state vehicle.

- DBE, HUB, SBE
- Reviewing plans for accuracy and ensuring compliance with requirements
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:- Sedentary work: Lift up to 10 lbs at a time and occasionally carry files/small tools
- Standing-prolonged periods of time
- Repetitive Motion-substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
- Close Visual Acuity-work includes data/figures; view a computer screen; extensive reading
