POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Mariana Minerals Electrician will provide competent and effective electrical support to our Refinery operations in East Texas. Our Electrician will be primarily responsible for maintaining, repairing, testing, adjusting, and assisting in the installation and removal of all electrical, communication, control, and measurement equipment at assigned locations. Our Electrician will perform a variety of operations, maintenance, and construction tasks to maintain safe operations of the refinery and its related facilities all while ensuring the facility is operated and maintained in compliance with company and applicable regulatory standards and practices.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Understand how to read and translate the information found within building and process blueprints and one-line diagrams to install outlets, circuits, load centers and other forms of electrical equipment
  • After installing the electrical equipment, test all connections to ensure all components are working properly and safely.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues in industrial equipment and processes using experience, system knowledge and proper instruments appropriate to the voltages and currents encountered.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on electrical systems to include disassembly, cleaning, reassembly, and calibration.
  • Meet and follow local, state and national electrical codes.
  • Communicate with management, engineers, mechanics, and equipment operators to advise them if there are any potential electrical hazards.
  • Examine jobs to be done and determine scope and best way to accomplish the work.
  • Ensure the shop is maintained in a safe and orderly fashion. Ensure the safety needs are given a top priority in operations support and work execution.
  • Update the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) as necessary to maintain accurate plant asset historical records.
  • Have complete knowledge of plant's processes and packaging systems.
  • Protect the integrity and quality of product at all times.
  • Recommend equipment to be included in preventive maintenance programs.
  • Suggest improvements to all maintenance processes, including planning scheduling, preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, CMMS, storeroom operations, etc.
  • Maintain close contact with assigned maintenance crew, the production supervisor and equipment production operator technicians.
  • Maintain necessary records and files and distributes meaningful and accurate control reports.
  • Complies with DOT and OSHA health, safety and environmental requirements and follows safety philosophy and procedures developed by the Company including: applicable environmental, health and safety rules, procedures, and accepted safe work practices, the use of appropriate personal protective equipment and safety systems, and the reporting of workplace hazards and injury or illness arising from workplace activities; observes the workplace to identify conditions or behaviors that should be corrected and takes appropriate action.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

The qualified candidates will possess a strong combination of knowledge and experience in the following:
  • Prefer an Associate's degree in electronics/electrical, instrumentation or a related technical field or its equivalent in experience.
  • Prefer 3-5 years experience as an operations/maintenance technician, or previous experience in electronics.
  • Ability to test, setup, troubleshoot, and maintain a variety of electronic/electrical and mechanical equipment to include but not limited to electrical motors (medium and low voltage), flow computers, programmable logic controllers (PLC), personal computers (PC), routers and switches, fluid level instruments such as radar gauges, AC and DC relay systems, switchgear, breakers, motor control centers, contactors, electrical and hydraulic, valve actuators, centrifugal and positive displacement pumps, pump seals, as well as various instrument and control equipment.
  • Knowledge of system operation, pipeline and facility layout, and equipment capability.
  • Ability to follow manufacturers specifications and schematics.
  • Ability to read and interpret a variety of technical data, such as schematics, one-line diagrams, and technical orders relating to the electrical trade.
  • Able to calculate electrical circuit load requirements.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the operation, capabilities, and limitations of complex electrical power and distribution.
  • Maintenance background, which includes hydraulics, controls, electrical, PLC's, machine tools and pneumatics.
  • Skill in troubleshooting electrical problems on large projects and applying test procedures.
  • Skill in the use of hand and power tools of the electrician trade to include a variety of electronic, electrical, or electromechanical test and measurement equipment.
  • Knowledge of safety, environmental, and security regulations, practices, and procedures.
  • Ability to utilize computer hardware and software to manage, record, and evaluate company information.
