Job Description Lane City Farm Dispatcher/Sales Coordinator - ( 21000337 ) **Description**

**POSITION SUMMARY:** Schedule and dispatch drivers/workers, work crews, equipment, or service vehicles for conveyance of materials, freight, or passengers, or for normal installation, service, or emergency repairs rendered outside the place of business. Duties may include using radio, telephone, or computer to transmit assignments and compiling statistics and reports on work progress.

**RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:**

* Plans, coordinates, and supervises the administration of the process of receiving sales orders and the conversion into picking orders.

* Plans delivery by organizing truck loads and routing schedules

* Prepare daily work and run schedules.

* Receive or prepare work orders.

* Coordinates delivery and pickup with the customer and sales department

* Oversees the loading onto trailers or trucks

* Oversees the preparation of delivery documents for drivers

* Oversee all communications within specifically assigned territories

* Record and maintain files and records of customer requests, work or services performed, charges, expenses, inventory, and other dispatch information.

* Determine types or amounts of equipment, vehicles, materials, or personnel required according to work orders or specifications.

* Advise personnel about traffic problems such as construction areas, accidents, congestion, weather conditions, and other hazards.

* Ensure timely and efficient movement of trains according to train orders and schedules.

* Order supplies and equipment, as needed.

* Flexible for any shift including weekends and some major holidays.

**Qualifications**

**EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE DESIRED:**

* High school diploma or its equivalent.

* Two years of prior dispatch experience preferably working in a call center environment.

**SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, ETC:**

* Ability to plan in detail

* Effective communication skills

* Ability to organize, lead, motivate, and care for all personnel involved in material operations

* Ability to thrive in a constantly changing chaotic environment and consistently meet tight timelines

* Ability to coordinate with contracted trucking dispatchers and drivers

* Must be proficient with computer and appropriate software

* Capability to type 35 WPM, and the ability to type for up to 50% of a workday.

**SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:** (IF APPLICABLE)

* No supervisory responsibilities

**PHYSICAL DEMANDS/REQUIREMENTS (Lifting, Bending, Stretching, etc.)**

* Requires prolonged walking, sitting, bending, and stooping and telephone/radio communications.

* Must be able to work in severe weather conditions.

**WORK ENVIRONMENT:**

* The majority of working hours will be spent in an office setting.

* Requires frequent exposure to outside weather conditions, extreme cold, extreme heat, wind, rain and dusty conditions.

**ADDITIONAL COMMENTS** Must be willing to take on a variety of assignments as assigned by management on an as-needed basis within the department and within other areas of King Ranch if necessary.
